CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Summer Work Experience

The Summer Work Experience Program is coordinated by the UCGHI Planetary Health Center of Expertise at the UC Davis One Health Institute, in partnership with the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) Cooperative Extension and other host organizations. This program offers students a unique hands-on opportunity to work on projects related to natural resources, agriculture, climate change, health and nutrition, youth development and environmental policy. Applications for the 2023 program are now available, and those submitted by February 10 will be in the initial review cycle. Additional student and host applications will be accepted through March 31, 2023.

Examples of activities that the fellow may be involved in:
  • Developing and delivering outreach and educational material for youth, families, and communities programs.
  • Assisting with research to investigate vectorborne diseases, assess resource utilization and improve farming practices in California.
  • Providing support to programs evaluating the benefits of integrated pest management in agriculture using a One Health approach.
