OHI Research Faculty Dr. Tierra Smiley Evans Receives UC Davis Global Affairs Seed Grant

Happy International Women's Day! Today we honor Dr. Tierra Smiley Evans, research faculty here at the One Health Institute at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and Chief Veterinary & Scientific Officer of Gorilla Doctors who received a Seed Grant for International Activities from UC Davis Global Affairs to study the microbiome of mountain gorillas.

This project is a collaboration with Dr. Julius Nziza, head veterinarian at Gorilla Doctors and Dr. Jonathan Eisen, a professor in ecology and evolution at UC Davis and renowned expert in the study and diversity of microbes and microbiomes.
