Fellowships

The One Health Institute, the Wildlife Health Center and our Centers of Expertise are committed to educating world leaders in veterinary medicine. We offer and support a variety of fellowship, externship, research and residency opportunities, and our faculty serve as mentors. 

One Health Fellowship

This two-year fellowship with the One Health Institute exposes early-career health professionals to academia, collaborative research and opportunities to develop skills in health science, advocacy, policy work and leadership.

UC Global Health Institute (UCGHI) GloCal Health Fellowship

The UC Global Health Institute's GloCal Health Fellowship supports a 12-month, mentored research fellowship for investigators interested in studying diseases and conditions in developing countries. The fellowship is designed for U.S. doctoral students, professional students and postdoctoral fellows. Woutrina Smith is a participating mentors from the One Health Institute.

Students Training in Advanced Research (STAR) Program 

Offered through the UC Davis School of Medicine, the STAR Program offers funded veterinary and biomedical research opportunities with faculty mentors each summer. Faculty in the One Health Institute, Wildlife Health Center and California Raptor Center serve as mentors for the STAR program, including:
