Lucija Jurisic, DVM, PhD

Lucija Jurisic has recently joined the One Health Institute as a Postdoctoral Scholar at OHI Laboratory. Lucija completed degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zagreb, Croatia in 2019. The same year she enrolled into a PhD program between the University of Teramo and WOAH Reference Laboratory for West Nile Fever in Teramo, Italy.
 

During her PhD she worked on standardization of in vivo mouse model of West Nile and Usutu virus infections, and well as on SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics and genome characterization. Her areas of scientific interest are public health and viral infectious diseases, especially emerging and re-emerging arboviruses.
