Bio

Dr. Jaber Belkhiria integrates his multidisciplinary background in epidemiology, environmental health science, and veterinary medicine into his role as a scientist at OHI. He is driven to zoonotic disease research through a deep-seated passion for wildlife and ecosystem preservation, along with a dedication to the One Health approach. As a Project Manager and Research Scientist, Jaber works on dynamic One Health projects. In his role at UC Davis, he uses his expertise in project management and implementation to facilitate successful global collaborations. Throughout his career, Jaber has been involved in a variety of projects in Africa particularly with the USAID PREDICT and the USAID One Health Workforce Next Generation projects.

After completing his doctorate of veterinary medicine at the Veterinary School of Tunis, Jaber was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to complete his Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM) degree. He then continued with a PhD in Epidemiology at UC Davis with the Center of Animal Disease Modeling and Surveillance (CADMS), where he focused on the application of modeling and machine learning into One Health issues
