How UC Davis VERT Activates

Service Request Info

The UC Davis Veterinary Emergency Response Team (UC Davis VERT) can provide veterinary care to animals at emergency shelter facilities, to animals shelter-in-place, and to animals during rescue operations. VERT is a volunteer program funded by donations and does not charge to activate.

To request assistance from UC Davis VERT, it is important to understand that UC Davis VERT is activated by the Yolo County Office of Emergency Services (OES).

Office of Emergency Services or Animal Control Offices from other Counties and State Agencies may request UC Davis VERT directly by contacting the Yolo County OES.  Agencies with mutual aid agreements can forward a request directly to Yolo County OES. Other agencies and private parties can expedite a request for veterinary teams of UC Davis VERT by placing a request to the OES or Sheriff’s Office of the jurisdiction where the animals are located, and have the requests forwarded to Yolo County OES.
