Tanzania's One Health Champion: Rudovick Kazwala
Honoring Professor Rudovick Kazwala
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our dear mentor and colleague Professor Rudovick Kazwala passed away on April 3, 2023.
Dr. Kazwala was a co-founder of the HALI project and professor of veterinary medicine and public health at Sokoine University of Agriculture. He served as an advisor, raising awareness among government officials of the health implications of infectious diseases, in addition to supporting outbreak response planning efforts. He coordinated the Bovine Tuberculosis Network for Africa and the zoonoses sector for collaborative research in environmental toxicology and zoonotic diseases in the Human:Domestic Animal:Wildlife interface areas of Eastern and Southern Africa - A South-North Veterinary Network.
