The One Health Training and Leadership program is a collaboration between University of Pretoria, South Africa and University of California, Davis that uses community engagement to provide One Health education to individuals in low-resource settings.  

Key Finding 

  • Implementation of this program in an agro-pastoral South African community provided program facilitators and participants with an improved understanding of disease prevention, hygiene practices, and One Health concepts 

Informing Action 

The valuable knowledge and skills learned in programs such as these are important for mitigating the risks of zoonotic disease transmission in high-risk/low-resource communities.
